"Like" on Facebook is protected!

On September 19th, a U.S. court of appeals gave Facebook a thumbs up when it ruled that "likes" on the social network are protected as free speech under the Constitution.

"In 2009, six employees at the Hampton Sheriff's Office in Virginia lost their jobs after expressing support for their boss' opponent in an upcoming election for sheriff, some by liking and commenting on the opponent's Facebook page.", CNN reporter said, as one of the origin cases which related to the case.

After U.S. count support "like" on Facebook and treat it as free speech, I saw marketing opportunities here, especially for internet marketing. It has been a long time for different companies promote their brand online, but right now interact with their fans and consumers online with this "like" function is protected by law. This provides lots of business opportunities and more companies would like join this promotion way for a cheap cost.

The social media affect lots of young consumers online through Facebook. Now, they can even make it legal to access consumers' database through Facebook. Also, the search engine will also direct consumers to Facebook webpage and help companies' public promotion.

Personally I think Facebook will become the new way of promotion which combines Twitter, Amazon and even Google.

Week 1- What to expect on iPhone 6?

Earlier this week, Apple has announced their new models of smartphones in their big family: iPhone 5S and 5C. People say that Apple has lose the inspirational leader position since Jobs left and Apple is struggling with their products and their target market.

Personally, I do not want to judge Apple's products. But the strategy and marketing events of Apple is continuing successful. People either like or dislike their "brand new" products, they are always talking about Apple and its related support service. The announcement event every year attracted amounts of discussions all over the world and live shows on the internet and interactions with web users were always the number one in related field.  Unlike other competitors, Apple has the unique technique support team and related software, such as iTunes and iCloud. They are not a company who only sell hardware to consumers and give limited warranty. In my opinion, Apple is a company who sells life style and convenience. And the smartest way to interact with consumers and all the public is through internet marketing.

The 5S and 5C model has been just released and the new Touch ID function has created lots of discussions on the internet. This is a very successful internet marketing example to maximize the public knowledge of their new products. Here I found a very useful link for Apple's fans and people who are interested in their new products: http://reviews.cnet.com/iphone-5s/. This is a short but hands-on review about the 5S model.

What's next will happen in iPhone 6? Rumors has spread all over the internet, yes, internet, again. The most important feature on next model would be a bigger screen which use solar energy for back-up energy. It has been like a magic circle- when Apple's new product has relased, people will automatically discuss the next model. More and more people will watch it and expect from those rumors and new from internet. That's the magic power of internet Marketing.
